At SamacSys, quality is our top priority. Our PCB Library models are built to industry standards or component manufacturer specifications.
All our ECAD models have been through our extensive multi-stage checking procedures and SamacSys are recognised as the industry leader when it comes to quality and accuracy.
Schematic Symbols
Our Symbol solution is unique in the electronics industry & follow industry standard guidelines:
- IEEE Std 315-1975 (Reaffirmed 1993)
- ANSI Y32.2-1975 (Reaffirmed 1989)
- CSA Z99-1975
We offer free tools that allow engineers to arrange their schematic Symbol in a way that suits their own design. The default symbol represents the location of the pin relative to its physical footprint however it can be infinitely adjusted in seconds to suit anyone’s requirement. This approach was taken after extensive market research of what an engineer wants – find out more. We will even create custom symbols for our users on request for free. In the words of one happy user “what more could any engineer want”!
We attach the following verified data to symbols:

- Manufacturer part number
- Suppliers Price & Stock availability
- Our descriptions also contain parametric information.
- Datasheet link.
- Custom links for manufacturers.
PCB Footprints (or Land Patterns)
Our PCB Footprints are created using component manufacturer specifications or comply with the IPC-7351B.
Where a component category is not catered for by the IPC standard we use rules developed in collaboration with leading Circuit Board manufacturers.

We attach the following verified data to footprints:

3D Models
Our 3D models are created using a unique mechanism so that when imported into any compatible EDA tool, they are positioned, scaled and orientated correctly onto the corresponding footprint. SamacSys is recognised as the largest creator of 3D models for electronic components.
All our 3D models are built to comply with ISO 10303-21, the STEP file format. We also provide VRML.
